Glenn--I'm not sure what Ken would say but I do think there's some "rule" about trying to hike in the same direction the whole way. Granted, if you hike the whole thing, you hike the whole thing, and that's where the credit comes from. But, it seemed important to Ken to walk north so long as he could.
Way to go, Ken! Patrick and Adam are excited to hear that you are done walking. Enjoy the last couple of weeks.
Hurraaayyyy!!!! How amazing!! Way to go Ken!!! I can't believe you're on schedule after so many months. You must have been seriously hoofing it to go so far in such a short time. Your determination and physical endurance have paid off. If you ever wanted to adopt a trail name it could be "wings". I wonder if you've had time to take as many pictures of this Northern part of the hike as you did of the southern part since you're going so fast. I hope the pictures aren't all blurred. We can't wait to see you!!!!
Wow, right on schedule. A few weeks ago I also guesstimated that he would make it there on the 15th - even though I know nothing about the trail conditions. Are there informal rules that a through-hiker must always travel in the same direction? To me it seems to make more sense to restart at Truckee and go south.
